The Divorced Dads - Our Why?
When my 1st marriage ended, it wasn’t just the emotional impact that hit me... It was the sheer lack of resources, guidance, and community for fathers navigating the divorce process. I found myself in a storm I hadn’t prepared for: legal complexities, financial strain, and the gut-punch of trying to protect my relationship with my kids while everything else was changing around me.
Everywhere I looked, the focus seemed to be on support for mothers. While that’s critical and necessary, I couldn’t shake the feeling that dads were left on their own to figure it out. The reality is that fathers also face intense emotional battles, financial challenges, and the fear of losing connection with their children. Yet the conversations, resources, and empathy for what men go through in divorce were almost nonexistent.
Now I am happily remarried and, with the support of my amazing better half, we have launched TheDivorcedDads.com; not as a legal advice platform, but as a space where fathers could find real stories, practical tips, and a community that understands the unique challenges they face. My goal was to build something I wished had existed when I needed it most: a place where dads don’t feel invisible, where they can share experiences without judgment, and where they can find tools to navigate the legal, emotional, and parenting hurdles that come with divorce.
